This article is for certified Prime For Life instructors.
If you forgot your Instructor Dashboard password, you can reset it yourself. The reset emails you a link, and you choose your new password on the page it opens.
- Go to https://instructor.primeforlife.org/Account/ForgotPassword (also reachable from the "Forgot Login" / "Login Recovery" option on the login page at https://instructor.primeforlife.org/login).
- Enter the email address on your account and submit. That email address is your username.
- Open the reset email and click the link within 24 hours.
- Choose a new password on the page that opens and save it.
- Sign in at https://instructor.primeforlife.org/ with your email address and your new password.
Nothing on your account changes until you set the new password. Requesting a reset does not lock you out, and your current password keeps working until you replace it.
A tip if you normally rely on a password saved in the browser on your own computer: reset it in advance if you will be teaching from a classroom or facility computer, so that you have a password you can actually type in and are not waiting on a reset email at class time.
If the link says it is invalid or has expired
A reset link stops working when it is more than 24 hours old, or as soon as a new password has been set on your account, whether from that link or another one. Request a fresh link at https://instructor.primeforlife.org/Account/ForgotPassword and use it straight away. Reset links in emails sent before October 9, 2026 no longer work.
If the reset email never arrives
The reset page shows the same message whether or not the address you entered has an account, so the confirmation on screen does not mean an email was sent. The usual cause is that your account is under a different address, most often an old work address. Try the reset with each address you might have registered under, and check your junk or spam folder. If nothing arrives, contact PRI support and list every email address you might have used. Support can confirm which address your account is under, update it, or set a password for you. If you are in training and have passed your completion deadline, your account may be locked; support can restore access.
If your new password is rejected
- Signing in somewhere other than the Instructor Dashboard. Your dashboard account is at https://instructor.primeforlife.org/, and there is no separate username -- you sign in with your email address. Signing in at a different site reports an incorrect password even when the password is right.
- A browser or password manager filling in an older password. Type the new password in rather than letting it autofill.
When support sets a password for you
Sign in with it and then change it immediately from MyProfile, or at https://instructor.primeforlife.org/Account/ChangePassword, to a password only you know. A password sent by email should not be left in place. Please do not include passwords in your message to support. If it fails, contact support again rather than repeating the reset, and tell us the exact message you see and the address you are signing in at.
What the reset email looks like
The reset email is titled "Set your Instructor Dashboard password." Click Set my password in that email and choose your new password.
Your desktop app uses the same password
The PRIME For Life desktop app signs in with your Instructor Dashboard email address and password, so a new Dashboard password is also your new app password. Sign in to the app with the new one. If you have reset your password and the desktop app still will not log you in, the app is probably out of date; see the article on the "cannot connect to PRI servers" message for how to install the current version.
If you can already sign in and simply want a different password, go to My Profile and click Change My Password, or use https://instructor.primeforlife.org/Account/ChangePassword
